Justification of the Existing System’s Conditions

A reciprocal relationship is also found in the preference of pornography’s audiences and the themes of the pornography. Our male interviewee has mentioned he prefers Japanese pornography in which females are being passive and submissive, it is therefore he would search such pornography that is portraying female in such manner in LIHKG as a platform for providing the sources he needed. But it is mentioned above that it could also be the commercial concern that makes the producer of the Japanese pornography to project female in such representation in order to suit the taste of the market and general taste of the intended audiences. It is a reciprocal influence in which both sides are also concertizing the privileged power of male in the patriarchal society and the celebration of male-gaze. “ Wherever there is an independent representation, the spectacle reconstitutes itself.” The Thesis 12 and 13 in “The Society of Spectacle” has once again reminded us that the paradoxical characters of spectacles in which the spectacles itself is its means but simultaneously its ends.[1] The spectacles are endlessly operating under the pre-existing conditions and discourses that reproduce itself. Not just the male-gaze, but also how female respond after they apply the gaze of male, do they tend to make resistance or submit to the manipulation of objectifying themselves.
